Easily access data records in your app using Retrieve Data Entry actions.
The Retrieve Data Entry actions in Naologic are designed to help users retrieve records from a database or dataset, whether for displaying specific details or listing multiple entries. There are two types of actions available: Retrieve Single Data Entry and Retrieve Multiple Data Entries. Both actions follow a similar installation process, but each serves a different purpose based on the number of records they retrieve.
Key Difference Between Retrieve Single and Multiple Data Entries
Retrieve Single Data Entry: Fetches a specific, single record from the data source, ideal for displaying details of an individual entry, such as a single customer profile or a specific order.
Retrieve Multiple Data Entries: Retrieves multiple records from the data source, suitable for displaying lists or tables, such as customer lists, product inventories, or order histories.
Installation for Retrieve Data Entry Actions
Navigate to the Desired Project:
From the Builder Overview, locate and select the project where you want to add the data retrieval action.
Access the Individual App Canvas:
Within the selected project, hover over the desired app and click Access App Flow to open the app where you want to add the action.
Open Add Elements:
Click the "+" button on the left side of the app canvas to open the Add Elements menu. Select Actions under User Interface
Search for Retrieve Data Entry Actions:
Go to User Interface > Actions and use the search bar to find either Retrieve Single Data Entry or Retrieve Multiple Data Entries.
Drag and Drop to Install:
Drag the selected action onto the app canvas to add it to your project.
Setup for Retrieve Data Entry Actions
Configure Action Settings:
After installation, hover over the action and click Edit.
In the Action Settings panel, select the Data Document that the action will interact with. This connects the action to the relevant data source, allowing it to fetch records from the specified document.
The Retrieve Single Data Entry and Retrieve Multiple Data Entries actions offer flexible solutions for accessing records within your app. Use the single entry option when you need to display or work with a specific record, and the multiple entries option when displaying or processing a collection of records. Proper setup ensures that users can quickly access the data they need for efficient workflows.
