Vocabulary Item Management Statuses: Navigating the Approval and Usage Process
In Naologic's Vocabulary Management module, each vocabulary item goes through various statuses to ensure it meets the necessary standards before being used in the production environment. In this article, we'll explore the different vocabulary item statuses in Vocabulary Management and discuss their significance in effectively managing your organization's vocabulary items.
Overview of Vocabulary Item Statuses
There are five main vocabulary item statuses in Naologic's Vocabulary Management:
Awaiting Approval
Approved
Rejected
Live
Unpublished
Understanding each status is crucial for maintaining a smooth approval and usage process.
Awaiting Approval
When a vocabulary item is first created, its default status is "Awaiting Approval." This status indicates that the vocabulary item is still in draft mode and has not yet been approved by the appropriate team member(s). During this stage, the vocabulary item is not available for use in lessons.
Approved
Once a vocabulary item has been manually reviewed and approved by a team member with the appropriate permissions, its status changes to "Approved." Vocabulary items with this status can be taken live, making them available for use in lessons.
Rejected
If a vocabulary item does not meet the necessary standards or requirements, it can be assigned a "Rejected" status. Rejected vocabulary items cannot be taken live, ensuring that only high-quality and approved items are used in lessons.
Live
A "Live" status signifies that an approved vocabulary item has been published and is now available for use throughout the organization's workspace. Live vocabulary items can be selected and used in various apps within the Naologic ecosystem.
Unpublished
An "Unpublished" status indicates that a vocabulary item that was previously live has been removed from the production environment. Unpublishing a vocabulary item makes it unavailable for selection and use across the workspace. Unpublished vocabulary items may need further review, edits, or updates before being reintroduced into the production environment (lessons).
Managing Vocabulary Item Statuses
To effectively manage your vocabulary items, it's essential to understand and monitor the various vocabulary item statuses in Naologic's Vocabulary Management. By keeping track of the status of each vocabulary item, you can ensure that only approved and high-quality items are used in your organization's production environment. This ultimately helps maintain a consistent and professional experience for your end-users.
To change a vocabulary item's status, simply navigate to the Vocabulary Table, locate the desired vocabulary item, and update its status using the available options. Remember that only users with the appropriate permissions can approve, reject, or unpublished vocabulary items.
Naologic's Vocabulary Management statuses play a crucial role in ensuring that your organization's vocabulary items go through a structured approval and usage process. By understanding and effectively managing each vocabulary item's status, you can maintain the quality and consistency of the content used in your workspace and provide a seamless experience for your end-users.
