Managing Product Categories for Your Ecommerce Storefront

Effectively organizing your products into categories is essential for providing a seamless browsing experience for your customers. In this article, we'll guide you through the process of creating, editing, and managing product categories for your Naologic ecommerce storefront.

Accessing the Product Categories Menu

To begin setting up product categories, follow these steps:

  1. Access your Naologic workspace and select the "Ecommerce" tab from the global menu.

  2. Locate and click on the "Storefront Configuration" menu, then select the "Product Categories" tab.

Creating New Product Categories

To create a new product category, follow these steps:

  1. Click the "Create New Category" button at the top of the categories table.

  2. Enter a category name that accurately describes the group of products it represents.

  3. If applicable, select a parent category for your new category, allowing for a hierarchical organization of your products.

  4. Provide an SEO-friendly meta title and meta description for the category. This information will be used when the category link is shared.

  5. Once you have entered the necessary information, click "Create" to add the new category to your ecommerce storefront.

Editing and Deleting Product Categories

To edit or delete an existing product category:

  1. Hover over the category in the table to reveal the editing options.

  2. Click the "Edit" button to update the category name, parent category, meta title, or meta description.

  3. Click the "Delete" button to remove the category from your storefront. Note that deleting a category may affect the organization of your products, so proceed with caution.

Displaying Product Categories on Your Storefront

After creating your product categories, they will be visible on your ecommerce storefront. Categories and subcategories will be displayed, making it easy for customers to browse and find products within specific groups.
