Creating and Managing AI Backstories in Naologic DataGym

AI Backstories play a crucial role in providing context and improving the performance of your AI models. In this article, we will guide you through the process of creating and managing AI Backstories within Naologic's DataGym.

Navigating to AI Backstories

  1. Locate the DataGym in the global navigation and click on it.

  2. Once inside the DataGym module, you'll see the three apps listed on the left-hand side: AI Backstories, User Prompts, and User Sessions.

  3. AI Backstories is the default app, so you'll land on this page when you click on DataGym.

Creating a New AI Backstory

  1. Click the "Create AI Backstory" button at the top of the AI Backstories table.

  2. You'll be taken to the "Playground" where you can configure your backstory settings.

  3. On the right-hand side, under "Backstory Basics," you can name and describe your backstory.

  4. Configure the backstory settings using the available controls, such as:

    • Temperature: Controls the randomness of generated text.

    • Maximum Length: Sets the maximum number of tokens to be generated.

    • Nuclear Sampling: Specifies the sampling threshold during inference time.

    • Frequency Penalty: Prevents word repetition.

    • Presence Penalty: Prevents topic repetition.

    • Best Of: Generates multiple responses to a prompt and selects the best option automatically.

    • Restart Text: Injects a specific text as a restart point.

    • Show Probabilities: A debugging option that displays the reasoning behind selected tokens.

Defining a Prompt Template for Your AI

  1. Create a prompt template to give your AI an identity and define its behavior.

  2. Generate an AI response based on the input and settings you've provided.

  3. Refine and optimize the output to achieve the best possible result from your prompt template.

Saving and Managing Your AI Backstory

  1. Once you're satisfied with your backstory, click "Save," and it will appear in the main AI Backstories table.

  2. From the table, you have two options:

    • Edit the backstory to make changes or refine it further.

    • Delete the backstory altogether if it's no longer needed.
