Understanding Data Connections

Data connections in Studio link elements directly to fields within a data structure. These connections ensure elements are tied to the appropriate data fields, enabling accurate input, retrieval, and display of data.

Creating Data Fields for Connections

There are two main ways to create a data field in the data structure:

  1. Via Project Configuration

    • From the App Canvas, follow these steps:

      1. Click on Project Configuration at the top-right corner.

      2. Select Data Configuration.

      3. In the side navigation, click on Data Structure.

      4. Choose an existing data structure to add fields or create a new data structure.

      5. Add the required fields to the data structure by filling in the necessary form.

  2. From Studio

    • While working inside the Studio:

      1. Add a new element to the Studio.

      2. Right-click the element and click Edit.

      3. Select Create New Data Connection.

      4. Fill in the required form to create a new field.

Connecting Elements to Data Fields

Once a data field is created using either method:

  1. Right-click the element in the Studio and select Edit.

  2. Under Field Data Connection, choose the appropriate data field from the dropdown menu.

This connection ensures the element is properly linked to the intended field in the data structure, allowing for seamless data input or display within the app.
