Attachments Element
The Attachments Element lets you add file upload and management options within a modal in your app. By setting up this element, you can attach documents, images, or other files to records, making it easier to store and access additional information directly where it's needed.
Installation
Access the Element Studio:
In the Individual App Canvas, locate and hover over the modal where you want to add attachments.
Click Access Element Studio.
Add the Attachments Block:
Inside Element Studio, click Add New Block.
Use the search bar to find "Attachments" and click on it to add it to the modal.
Setup
Create the Required Data Structure:
To enable the Attachments feature, set up a new data structure specifically for attachments, with the following fields (as per the screenshot provided):
Name (String)
CDN Link (Required, String)
File Size (Number)
Mime Type (String)
Uploaded By (String)
Uploaded At Date (String)
Link Attachments to the App’s Data Structure:
In the app's main data structure, create a new field (typically named "Attachments").
Set this field's type to Array and Data Structure.
Link this field to the newly created data structure for attachments, allowing multiple files to be stored in this array.
Enable CDN for File Storage:
Go to the app's Data Collection settings.
Navigate to Options and enable CDN by ticking the box.
Create a folder (name it as you like) within the CDN settings to store attachments uploaded through this element.
With the Attachments Element set up, you’ll have an organized and accessible way to handle files within your app, keeping all related documents in one place for easy reference and management.
