How to Publish a Project in Naologic Builder: A Comprehensive Guide

Publishing a project in Naologic Builder is a critical step in deploying your backoffice applications. It enables you to deliver updates and enhancements directly to your users. Whether you're making minor adjustments or major overhauls, understanding the publishing process is essential. This guide will walk you through the steps of successfully publishing a project in Naologic Builder.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Publish a Project

  1. Navigate to the Builder Overview: This is the main dashboard where you can see all of your projects and click on the Project you wish to Publish.

  2. In the top right corner of your canvas, click on the Publish option.

  3. A modal will appear with several options. First, select whether you want to publish to a live (production) instance or a test (sandbox) instance.

  4. Next, select the type of publication. Your options are as follows:

    • Quick Build will compile your whole project quickly, adding new updates without recompiling everything. This is the recommended option for most updates.

    • Full Build recompiles your whole project and is best for larger updates. The deployment time for this is longer, taking roughly five minutes.

    • Rebuild stops the current publication, erases all files, reinstalls them, and republishes everything. This option is suitable for large updates to data models and structures.

  5. Advanced options include Purge the Cache and Reset Workspace Data.

    • Purge the Cache clears the cache, requiring users to load everything in their browser anew. This is useful when you want to ensure users see updates and not older cached versions.

    • Reset Workspace Data deletes all data in the workspace. Use this with extreme caution as it will permanently remove all entered data. If selected, you'll be asked to type the name of the deployment you want to reset as an extra security measure.

Understanding the different publishing options in Naologic Builder allows you to manage and update your apps and workflows effectively. By following these steps, you can ensure seamless project updates, enhancing your backoffice applications for a streamlined business process.
