Importing a Private Project into Naologic Builder

Need to start a new project based on an existing private project? This guide will show you how to import a private project into Naologic Builder. By leveraging pre-built applications and workflows, you can get a head start on building your company's back office.

Why Import a Private Project?

You might consider importing a private project for several reasons:

  • An external Naologic Builder has been hired to build your project, and now you want to take over and maintain it with minor updates without handling the initial setup.

  • You've found a community-sourced project that suits your use case, and the owner has shared specific access details for you to import the project.

Step-by-Step Instructions to Import a Private Project

  1. Navigate to the Builder Overview: This is the main dashboard where you can see all of your projects.

  2. Locate the "Install Private Project" Button: In the top left corner of the Builder Overview, you'll find the "Install Private Project" button.

  3. Enter Project Details: Click the button to open a modal window. Enter the following information:

    • Project Name: Choose a suitable name for your new project.

    • Template ID: Obtain the Template ID from the project owner. This ID uniquely identifies the private project you want to import.

    • Template Password: Obtain the Template Password from the project owner. This password is required to access and import the private project.

Note: The Template ID and Template Password can be found in the project canvas of the original project. To access these details, click the "+" button and this information can be set/found under Publish > Share Project

  1. Create Your Project: Click the "Create Project" button to launch your new project with the imported apps and workflows already in place.

Successfully importing a private project creates a new, independent version of the project. Any changes you make to this imported project will only be visible to you and your team, not to the original project owner.

By following these steps, you can efficiently import a private project into Naologic Builder and create a new, independent version of the project. This allows you to leverage existing applications and workflows while maintaining control over your own project.
