Visualizing Geographic Data with World Charts

The World Chart enables the visualization of data on a world map, helping to represent data geographically. It is particularly useful for visualizing metrics such as regional performance, global trends, or country-specific data.

Configuring the Chart

Data Connections

To set up the World Chart, configure the following fields:

  1. User Document
Connect to the data document that contains the geographic data to be displayed.

  2. Projection
Select the data field that will act as the primary source of data for the visualization.
Example: Sales Data, User Data, or any other relevant metric.

  3. Date Data Connection
Choose the date field that will be used to filter or organize the data over a specific time range.
Example: Use "Created At" or "Purchase Date" to analyze metrics over time.

  4. Group by Data Path
Select the data path to group the information for display on the world map.

Chart Configuration

To finalize the World Chart setup, the following configuration options must be completed:

  1. Option Name

    • Provide a descriptive name for the configuration.

    • Example: “Global Sales by Country” or “User Distribution.”

  2. Data Index

    • Select the data field (index) from the data document to process and display on the chart.

    • Example: For visualizing users by location, use the “User ID” field.

  3. Operator

    • Choose the operation to apply to the selected data:

      • Count: Displays the total count of entries.

      • Sum: Aggregates numerical data (e.g., total sales).

      • Avg: Calculates the average values.

  4. Type

    • Specify the data type:

      • Number: For numerical metrics like sales totals.

      • String: For text-based data like country names.

  5. Sort

    • Define the sorting order:

      • 1: Ascending.

      • -1: Descending.

By configuring these options, the World Chart will display a clear geographic representation of your data, allowing you to gain insights into regional trends and performance.
