Highlighting Key Performance Metrics

The KPI (Key Performance Indicator) Chart is ideal for displaying critical metrics or key data points in a clear, concise format. It helps businesses track performance against goals, monitor progress, and identify trends quickly.

Fields for Configuration

To set up the KPI Chart, configure the following fields:

  1. User Document
    Connect to the data document that contains the data for the KPI.

  2. Projection
    Select the specific field from the data document to extract the key metric.

  3. Data Data Connection
    Choose the data connection that provides the metric to be calculated.

  4. Date Data Connection
    Select the date field to filter or compare the data over time.

  5. Operation
    Choose the operation to apply to the selected data:

    • Sum: Aggregate numerical values, such as total revenue.

    • Count: Count the total entries, such as number of customers.

    • Avg: Calculate the average value of a metric.

    • Median: Determine the median value of the data set.

  6. Value
    Define the type of value to display:

    • Number: For numerical metrics like sales or user counts.

  7. Currency Data Connection (Optional)
    If the metric involves currency, select the pointer for that currency value.

Chart Configuration

To finalize the KPI Chart  setup, the following configuration options must be completed:

  1. Option Name

    • Provide a descriptive name for the configuration.

  2. Data Index

    • Select the data field (index) from the data document to process and display on the chart.

  3. Operator

    • Choose the operation to apply to the selected data:

      • Count: Displays the total count of entries.

      • Sum: Aggregates numerical data (e.g., total sales).

      • Avg: Calculates the average values.

  4. Type

    • Specify the data type:

      • Number: For numerical metrics like sales totals.

      • String: For text-based data like country names.

  5. Sort

    • Define the sorting order:

      • 1: Ascending.

      • -1: Descending.

By configuring these fields and options, the KPI Chart provides a concise and actionable snapshot of critical business metrics.
