Analyzing Data with Funnel Charts

The Funnel Chart visualizes data that represents sequential steps, helping identify drop-offs, conversion rates, or performance across a process funnel. This is ideal for sales pipelines, onboarding flows, or user engagement analysis.

Fields for Configuration

To set up the Funnel Chart, configure the following fields:

  1. User Document
Connect to the data document from which the funnel data will be pulled.
Example: Sales Orders, Leads, or User Registrations.

  2. Projection
Select the specific field from the data document to use as the funnel's primary metric.
Example: Lead ID, Sales ID, or User ID.

  3. Group Data Connection
This field allows grouping the data into funnel stages.

    • Example: Select "Status" for sales pipelines or any sequential grouping.

  4. Select Statuses
Define the specific statuses or steps to be visualized in the funnel.

  5. Date Data Connection
Select the date field to sort or filter the data.

Chart Configuration

After setting up the fields, complete the chart configuration with the following options:

  1. Option Name

    • Provide a clear and descriptive name for the funnel chart configuration.

    • Example: “Sales Conversion Funnel” or “User Onboarding Funnel.”

  2. Data Index

    • Select the data field (index) that will represent the items to count or measure in the funnel.

    • Example: “Order ID” for a sales pipeline or “User ID” for onboarding.

  3. Operator

    • Choose the operation for calculating data at each funnel stage:

      • Count: To count the total entries at each step.

      • Sum: To calculate totals, such as revenue per stage.

    • Example: “Count” for tracking user conversions or “Sum” for calculating sales values.

  4. Type

    • Specify the data type to be used in the chart:

      • Number: For numerical values (e.g., revenue, counts).

      • String: For text-based identifiers like names or IDs.

  5. Sort

    • Define the sorting order:

      • 1: Ascending order.

      • -1: Descending order.

By setting up the Funnel Chart, you can analyze performance across sequential steps and gain insights into conversion rates or stage progressions in your processes.
