The Perform Additional Action function enables an action to trigger an additional action within the same request. This allows for the chaining of actions and ensures seamless workflows that execute multiple operations in sequence.

What is the Perform Additional Action Function?

This function acts as an initial step to execute another action as part of the same workflow. Users can configure where the data is sent, what data is returned (either from the original or the triggered action), and how to handle errors during execution.

How to Add the Perform Additional Action Function

While editing the desired installed action:

1. Click on the "Add Function" button inside the action edit modal.

2. Search for "Perform Additional Action" in the list of available functions.

3. Select the function to include it in the action.

4. Configure the function:

   • Send Data to Action: Specify the target action where the data will be sent. Options include:

     • Nothing: No data is sent.

     • Document ID: Sends the document ID.

     • Document Data: Sends the full document data.

   • Return Data: Choose what data is returned:

     • Original: Returns the original data from the current action.

     • From Triggered Action: Returns the data from the additional action.

   • What to Do in Case of Errors: Define how errors should be handled:

     • Ignore: Continue execution even if the additional action encounters an error.

     • Trigger Error: Halt execution and raise an error if the additional action fails.

5. Save the action settings.
